Rev. Oakey V. Test notice appears in our column last week. Was born in Bethel Clermont County, Ohio May 23, 1817 being at the time of death 80 years 11 months and 20 days of age. He was married to Miss Lucy Mary Snyder in Georgetown, Brown County Ohio Sept. 8, 1839.In 1851 with his family moved near Indianopolis Ind. where thy resided a year, at the exporation? of which they moved near Fishhook, Pike County Illinois. In the spring of 1866 Mr. Test purchased and moved to a farm 26 miles south of this place where he resoded till his death which event occured on Thursday evening May 12 at 7:30.
For many years Mrs. Test was afflicted with rheumatism and bronchitis and during the latter part of hhis life these with a complication of diseases rendered him a great sufferer. Though Mr Test had been very feeble for several years his death was somewhat unexpected and the day before it occured he had taken a drive to Marden and seemed better than usual. The following day however he grew worse and a phycision was summoned who said the patients trouble was of the heart. The doctor gave him some relief and upon leaving said Mr Test would soon be as well as usual. In a few hours he suffered another attack from which he never recovered.
Deceased was the father of eleven children, nine of who are living: Mrs Nora Elledge, L.S. and M.L Test of this city. Lank and William Test of Scottsmill, Mrs. S. Newingham and Mrs Dan Buckley of Elkhorn, J. F. Test of Rising City Nebraska, and Mrs Morrell of Meadville, Mo. with the mother survive.
