Test, Richard "Dick" Z. Test, Captain (Ret. U.S. Navy), 62, of Middletown, died Friday (Feb. 11) in Middletown. He was born May 2, 1931, in Fort Dodge, Iowa, son of Harold Z. and Lois (Russell) Test. Dick was employed by Northeast Utilities. He received a Bachelor's degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y., and earned his Master's from R.P.I. in 1988.He was a member and treasurer of the League of Women Voters of Greater Middletown, and was a member of the Middletown High School PTA, and the Middlesex County Branch of the NAACP.
He is survived by his wife, Muriel (Weeks) Test; a brother, Dan Test of Winchester, Mass.; a sister, Mary (Test) Dietzen of Chandler, Ariz.; three daughters, Gretchen Test of Seattle, Wash., Abbie Test Wrasman of Albuquerque, N.M., and Molly K. Test of Middletown; and a grandson, Alaric Wilkinson Wrasman. He was predeceased by his parents; and his son, Eric Thomas Test.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Leaque of Women Voters of Greater Middletown, P.O. Box 886, Middletown 06457. In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Test's remains have been donated to a medical school for research.
