1775, Jan. 23. Test, John, of Woolwich Township, Gloucester Co., yeoman; will of. Wife, Elizabeth, £ 100 . All land to be sold, except 3 1/2 acres, which join land of John Hoffman, in Pilesgrove Township. A one-story frame house, of 2 rooms, is to be built on said lot, which my wife is to have during her widowhood, and afterwards to son, John. Children to be educated. To children, Mary, Elizabeth, Hope, John and Mathew, the money, when they come of age. Executors--wife, Elizabeth, and father-in-law, Benjamin Lippincott. Witnesses--Mary Spicer, Mary Lippincott, Jacob Davis.

1777, April 27. Codicil. I now live in Pilesgrove, Salem Co. If my wife have a son, then he is to have my lands at Alloways Creek, and , if she have a daughter, then to be equal with her sisters. Witnesses--Benjamin Test, Zaccheus Ballinger, Joshua Allen. Proved June 9, 1777.

Notes
The name 'Mathew' here is probably due to a misreading of the original document on the part of the writer of the abstract. The records of the births in this family are recorded in the Quaker records. Hinshaw's Encyclopedia of Quaker Genealogy indicates that Martha was born 9/19/1774 and died 10/27/1780. It is unlikely that both of these entries would have been misread as 'Martha' rather than 'Mathew'. [Glenn Test pointed out this mistake in the abstract of the will.]
